This paper presents a comprehensive analysis and classification of harmonic distortions—one of the primary challenges in modern power systems—from the perspective of symmetrical components. The fundamental basis of the research is mathematical modeling developed within the Microsoft Excel software environment, where the impact of harmonic components up to the 50th order is investigated using the discrete analysis method (1000 control points per period). The scientific novelty and practical value of the study are defined by an in-depth analysis of the correlation between harmonic curves and phasor diagrams, which enables the dynamic observation of phasor rotation and potential asymmetries.

The conducted research confirms that the impact of harmonic content on the system follows a strict cyclical pattern directly related to their order. The paper provides a detailed discussion on the principles of forming positive, negative, and zero sequences based on mathematical algorithms ($3k + 1$; $3k - 1$; $3k$). The visualization and systematized data presented in this work establish a reliable methodological framework for power quality monitoring, intelligent diagnostics, and the design of effective filtration systems, which are critically essential for the sustainable and reliable operation of the electrical power system.
