Eye and eyelid form of toxocariasis

Abstract

Toxocariasis is a parasitic disease caused by Toxocara species of worms. The most common forms in humans include visceral and ocular toxocariasis. The ocular form is rare but is characterized by severe complications resulting from the migration of larvae to the eye. The aim of this article is to analyze the clinical signs, diagnostics, treatment, and prevention of ocular and eyelid toxocariasis. The narrative includes findings from studies, surgical interventions, and pharmacological treatments conducted on a patient diagnosed in 2024. The patient was cured following appropriate therapy. The article emphasizes the seriousness of the disease and the importance of timely diagnosis and comprehensive treatment to reduce the risk of complications and the spread of the disease.
