Temporary diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory process in paranasal cavity is one of the actual problems in surgical stomatologies.
The clinical characteristics of acute odontogenic sinusitis of the maxillary sinus are presented.
As a result of the examination of patients, 2 groups were distinguished with an acute inflammatory process (serous and destructive without complications and with complications). In the serous form, a conservative method of treatment is provided. The destructive form requires complex treatment, as well as surgical intervention - removal of the pathologically changed mucous membrane.
In complicated forms of acute odontogenic sinusitis of the maxillary sinus, patients underwent emergency surgery: opening of the phlegmon, drainage. Sinus revision was performed with removal of the inflamed mucosa, at the same time a catheter was inserted into the external carotid artery for the administration of medicinal drugs.
The work conducted confirmed the effectiveness of differentiated treatment in inflammatory diseases of the maxillary sinus.
