Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin. Its development is multifactorial and is the result of interactions between genetic, immunological and environmental causes. It is mainly manifested in children, infants, and adults. The prevalence of atopic dermatitis in adults is poorly studied and generally amounts to 5-8%, and there are a number of scientific studies on the prevalence of this disease in military personnel, according to which atopic dermatitis is the third most common disease in military personnel after acne and dermatophytosis. Atopic dermatitis is characterized by skin rashes, itching, sleep disturbances, often requires a specific diet, which has a great impact on the quality of life of the patient and dramatically reduces the ability to work. Many scientific papers have been devoted to the study of the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis. The ongoing immunological processes in atopic dermatitis are quite well studied, although treatment of the disease is not always effective, especially in the presence of attached skin infections.
