Abstract

The article deals with the geopolitical significance and role of water resources in international relations in the process of ensuring the country's internal political, economic, and military security. At the global level, water is not only a vital natural resource but also a strategic asset, the availability of which determines the economic sustainability, security, and international political position of states. The paper discusses geopolitical challenges and opportunities related to water. Among them, relations between neighboring countries, resource management, energy, and food security. The study analyzes examples of countries whose sovereignty and development prospects directly depend on the protection and management of water resources.

The paper highlights the country's interest in properly managing water resources for the benefit of the state, as well as correctly planning and implementing measures for its use as a strategic and, accordingly, political-economic resource in the global economy.
