Abstract

Highland Ajara is an ancient historical region. The life of the inhabitants here is related to agricultural activities. The life of the mountain people has saved us many things. The people in distress, with one hand, held on to the hard-earned wealth, while with the other, it took care of the country's freedom and future, and with its mind, it created customs, traditions, beliefs and ideas that have become the most precious treasure for generations.

Many ethnographers and researchers are interested in the household items of our corner. Each of them has their own interpretation of the materials found, but from today's perspective it is clear that no matter how many times we return to this subject, we always find something new and surprising.

 Hopeful in faith, on July 17, 18 and 19, 2023, the employees of the Khariton Akhvlediani Museum,  visited the highlands of Adjara on an expedition, organized by the Museum of the State of Adjara. We visited all the districts of these three (Schalta, Didachara, Ghorjomi), searched for old exhibits, wrote down very interesting materials related to them. We heard different opinions regarding the purpose and use of household items.

In this conference paper, we present the material collected by us during the expedition, which will be related to the household items in the highlands of Adjara.
