Аннотация
The aim of the study was assessment of air quality in the big cities (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Zestaphoni) of Georgia. According to available data, we cannot consider the air condition to be alarming, however, it is still necessary to take further steps to reduce concentration of total suspended particulate matter (PM 2,5 and PM 10) and harmful impurities in the ambient air. For this in big cities of Georgia it is essential to regulate traffic and to give priority to electric and hybrid engines. In cities where is highly developed industry along with traffic emissions control increasing supervision over industrial enterprises is unavoidable. Considering that CO2 is the major indicator of air pollution permanent control is desirable in vulnerable places, which will create a clearer picture of ambient air quality.
