Abstract
The present study was conducted to determine the re-lease of the drug substances of various natures from softdosage forms. The study was conducted using the Franzdiffusion cell approach. Chicken comb skin, a newborn ratskin biopsy (taken from the abdomen), polyethylene, andeggshell membranes were used as the membrane model. Thestudy subjects were salicylic acid, rutin and protein. Thediffusion rate of the drugs was determined in the phosphatebuffer area (pH 7.4) at 37 ± 0.5° C temperature for 12 hours. The concentrations of salicylic acid and rutin retained bythe membranes used in the diffusion process were deter-mined at the end of the study (after 12 hours). The experi-mental studies have shown that the rate of diffuse process-es in the rat skin is higher compared to the chicken combskin. In addition, maximum retention of active pharmaceuti-cal ingredients was observed in chicken comb skin. Minimaldrug retention was observed in polyethylene and eggshellmembrane samples.References
