The research topic of the paper is the determination of the role of museums in the development of cultural tourism. Cultural tourism includes all areas of tourism related to the popularization of the history, culture, ethnography, material and spiritual heritage of the nation.

As a rule, a museum is a permanent institution serving the development of society. In the processes of modern globalization, museums closely cooperate with society, integrate with amazing speed and receive an unlimited number of both local and foreign visitors. Therefore, it is necessary to correctly understand and present its role.

The country's values, both material (historical, architectural monuments) and intangible (folk art, language, religion, traditions, customs) are a unique prerequisite for the development of cultural tourism, which causes a growing interest in museums from visitors. A museum is a kind of repository of information, education, and culture that people have accumulated over many years through their work. All this has led to the fact that a museum has taken its rightful place among the essential points of a tourist trip, because nothing can give you more information about a foreign country than a repository where its history and culture are stored and which allows tourists to get to know a unique culture that was previously unknown to them in more depth.
