Abstract

The conference topic discusses the social structure of Batumi region, their lifestyle and the influx and integration of foreign cultures into the population at the beginning of the 20th century. There is description of political situation prevailed in the city at that time and the social, economic and cultural processes that led to the urbanization of the city and the formation of society, transforming it into an industrial and cultural center distinguished by European influences, are discussed. The focus is on the port of Batumi as the main tool for bringing industrialization, forming a multi-ethnic environment, strengthening education and the intelligentsia, and activating theater and cultural life. The work also describes the stage and the changes experienced by female representatives of the population. The thesis is compiled according to both Georgian and foreign historical sources, archival materials, photo documents obtained from foreign media, newspapers, and the Internet.
