Abstract
Aerial organs of Astragalus brachycarpus were extracted with 80% ethyl alcohol. The alcoholic extract was filtered and then concentrated. The aqueous fraction was extracted with chloroform, and then with ethyl acetate and butanol. Five compounds are isolated and identified: Apigenin, canthaxanthin and daidzein (from the ethyl acetate fraction); mangiferin (from the butanolic fraction) and isorhamnetin-3,7-O-β-D-diglucopyranoside (from the aqueous fraction). All substances were isolated from Astragalus brachycarpus for the first time.
