The cultural heritage of Georgia, as an immortal chronicle of the development of the spiritual and material culture of our country, is a prerequisite for the formation of the self-consciousness of the Georgian nation and the continuity of the independent national culture and is an integral part of the cognitive-artistic treasure of humanity. This article is an attempt to provide methodological support for the cultural heritage conservation plan. As it is known, the cultural heritage conservation plan includes scientific, methodological, and practical regulations, defines the basic regulations and the list of acceptable works, as well as the procedures for the preservation and use of material cultural heritage monuments. The article discusses the functional characteristics of chemical substances used for the protection of cultural heritage and the chemical aspects of managing risk factors affecting the durability of the painted layer of the fresco.
