Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present qualitative research, to understand its nature, when and why we use this type of research. Through qualitative research, it is possible to get detailed information about different topics or events, study the reasons and background. The paper discusses qualitative research methods and methodologies, such as ethnography, narrative research, phenomenology, grounded theory and many more. The qualitative research is being compared to the quantitative research. Advantages and disadvantages of qualitative research are listed. There are also presented areas of current application and the relevance of such scientific approach.
