The article examines the ongoing Russia-Ukraine military conflict and analyzes the effectiveness of international organizations in facilitating a peaceful resolution. It explores the mechanisms and tools available to these organizations for promoting peace-building initiatives and contrasts them with the principles of realpolitik. Russia’s actions are analyzed as a response to the eastward expansion of NATO, which is driven by its strategic security concerns. Using the Russia-Ukraine conflict as a case study, this analysis highlights key challenges that limit the effectiveness of international organizations in promoting constructive behavior among great powers. The mentioned limitations undermine the ability of such organizations to contribute significantly to achieving long-term and stable peace.Downloads
