The Role of BRICS in the New World Order

The 21st-century international system is undergoing profound transformation. The post-Cold War unipolar structure has formally collapsed, giving way to the configuration of a new multipolar world order. Within this shift, the Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS) alliance has gained special significance and is increasingly playing a systemic role in global political and economic affairs. This article analyzes the structural features and strategic aspirations of BRICS as a geopolitical expression of the Global South and evaluates its real potential to reshape the distribution of power in the international arena. The author discusses how BRICS has become one of the architects of the new world order, especially against the backdrop of declining U.S. hegemony and the crisis of the Western liberal system.
