In the 1920s–1940s, Adjara was part of the Soviet Union and was subject to Soviet cultural policy. Batumi, as an important transit city, was shaped not only economically but also culturally. During this period, cultural institutions were established, which facilitated the spread of Soviet ideology and the development of Adjara’s regional identity. Soviet cultural spaces played a significant role in the formation of regional identity. They also contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage, which remains important today. Studying the cultural experiences of the past provides a foundation for rehabilitation and further development.
