Abstract

The modern museum serves a multifunctional purpose; it is a hybrid platform for education. The modern museum is no longer viewed solely as a space for the exhibition of cultural heritage; it has evolved into an integrated educational environment that connects with both formal and non-formal education systems. The relevance of this topic is driven by the transformation of educational models, in which the need for museums as venues for holistic and interactive learning is becoming increasingly evident.

The conference paper will analyze the pedagogical potential of museum spaces from the following perspectives:

How museums collaborate with formal educational institutions (through integration with schools, universities, and educational curricula);

The role of museums in non-formal education (interactive educational programs, integrated lessons, literary meetings, conferences, workshops, activities aligned with the national curriculum, events, thematic excursions, and masterclasses);

How flexible and diverse educational approaches are developed at the intersection of these two educational models.

Within the scope of the topic, specific museum practices are examined, and surveys are presented that reflect the museum’s potential to become a multi-level and innovative learning space.

In conclusion, the conference paper emphasizes the need for museums to be meaningfully integrated into national educational policy as active agents of experiential, practice-based learning that complement and reshape traditional school education.
