As it is widely known, that the performance in youth sport involves an interplay between anaerobic and aerobic metabolism, which depends upon the intensity and duration of the activity and the individual’s developmental physiology, modulated by training status. High levels of aerobic and/or anaerobic fitness are essential components of performance in many youth sports. The aim of our research was to evaluate the use of nutritional supplements in different type of athletes depending on their knowledge and perception. Proper nutrition is essential for adolescent athletes to gain proper growth and perform adequately in sports, but we must not forget the damage that can be done to health and also various types of side effects, as a result, of excessive use of food and sports supplements.
