Abstract
Electrocution injury is often non-specific and making a correct forensic diagnosis is associated with significant difficulties, especially when the specific electric lesson does not develop on the skin or develops in an uncharacteristic form. In order to make a correct diagnosis, it is necessary to use modern study methods. Experimental study was conducted on rats in the form of modeled electrotrauma. Based on the study results, it is possible to conclude that the following histomorphological characteristics can be considered as specific signs for the diagnosis of electric injury: exfoliation of the stratum corneum, focal coagulative necrosis of the epidermis, deformation of the dermal papillae with the formation of specific (papillary) structures, focal coagulative necrosis of the dermis and deformation of the nuclei of skin appendages (hair follicles, sebaceous glands, sweat gland ducts), characterized by elongated and shrunken nuclei (70%), in combination with characteristic signs, such as: elliptical deformation of the nuclei of epidermal epitheliocytes, deformation of nerve fibers, hyperemia of blood vessels in deep soft tissues (fatty and muscular tissues), stasis, sludge, erythrodiapedesis in deep soft tissues, and deformation of the nuclei of deep soft tissue structures (elongated nuclei with shrunken walls).
