The Essence of Motivation and Factors Influencing it in General Educational Institutions

Abstract

The paper deals with the role, importance, and existing challenges of staff motivation, which are manifested in general education institutions. The success of any organizational management and goal achievement is ensured by the personnel and their performance. In this article, I would like to highlight the urgency of teachers’ motivation, as, generally the importance of motivation of every circle in an organization is a priority but a teacher’s role has a defining aspect in the school system. A teacher fulfills the main goal of a school and transfers the knowledge to future generations. So, teacher’s job satisfaction and higher sense of motivation provide work efficiency. The right strategies of personnel management, motivation, and performance appraisal bring goal achievement. In this article, I would like to emphasize the necessity of a performance appraisal and its results in the motivation process. The article aims to search the characteristics of teachers’ motivation at schools and show its importance for the process of goal achievement. According to the research, it is reviewed the current approaches of personnel motivation, literature, and legal acts. These works and in-depth interviews provided identification of present practices and challenges at schools. The recommendations were tailored based on the obtained information.
