Editorial policy

All submissions to PIG undergo an initial review for completeness before being forwarded to the Editor-in-chief for evaluation. Peer review is conducted on all research articles. Typically, this includes an evaluation by at least one independent and experienced reviewer.

PIG strictly prohibits the use of reviewers recommended by the author at any stage of the submission process.

The Editor-in-chief determines whether a submission is appropriate for review. If he/she has any conflicting interests related to a particular submission, another member of the Editorial Board will be assigned to oversee the peer review process. Editors will take into account the reviewed reports in their decision-making process, but they are not obligated to follow the opinions or suggestions expressed in such reports. Authors will be provided with review reports that contain the editorial decision regarding their manuscript.
