The Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology has been publishing its own periodicals since 1932. The scientific journal was published until 1952 under the title “Moambe of the Geological Institute of Georgia.” Then it changed its name and was published until 1965 under the title “Proceedings of the Geological Institute of Georgia” in two series: geological and mineralogical-petrographic. In 1948-1965, the series “Monographs” began to be published. From 1965 to 2022, the new series of “Proceedings of the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology” was published in separate volumes. In total, 16 volumes of “Moambe”, 33 volumes of a series of “Proseedings” and 135 volumes of a new series of “Proseedings” were published. Also the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology published 69 monographs in total. The Institute also published “Collections of articles” dedicated to various important events: geological sessions, scientific forums and conferences held by the Institute, anniversaries of the Institute and outstanding geologists, etc. The Institute's periodicals publish scientific articles on almost all areas of geology: stratigraphy, paleontology, paleogeography, regional geology, tectonics, seismtectonics, petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry, sedimentology, lithology, volcanology, paleovolcanology, geology of minerals, isotope geochronology, environmental protection, etc. Since 1947, the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology has been publishing reference-information monographs on the geological study of Georgia, based on published works.
