In modern practice, museum education and cultural tourism are increasingly closely linked, creating new opportunities for the development of both fields. This paper explores the impact of innovative educational programs on the dynamics of cultural tourism and the growth of visitor engagement. The research is based on the study of European and Georgian museum practices, considering experiences where interactive educational approaches have been implemented.
The results show that museums which offer integrated educational experiences to visitors achieve a 43% increase in repeat visits and a 37% improvement in tourist dwell time. Interpretation methods enriched with digital technologies are particularly effective, connecting local cultural narratives with the global context.
The paper presents a conceptual model of the Educational Tourism Cycle, which allows museums to transform passive exhibit collections into active learning environments, thereby increasing their role in the development of cultural tourism. The conclusions offer recommendations for Georgian museums to improve their educational programs with the goal of strengthening cultural tourism.
