Abstract

Protecting the rights of persons with disabilities is a global problem and, in this regard, Georgia is no exception. People with disabilities in Georgia face several critical challenges that continually hinder their integration into society and access to essential services. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified in 2014, is a crucial international framework for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. Even though Georgia has taken important steps in the formulation of the legal framework for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, the implementation is still inconsistent, which causes certain problems in the aspect of socialization of persons with disabilities. Based on the results of the study, it will be possible to offer recommendations for improving health policy and practice. The aim of the paper is to provide an important direction for the promotion of positive changes in the health care experience of people with disabilities in Georgia, to solve health care inequities, to advocate for an inclusive health care policy and to promote the health care system.
