Abstract

The smallest particulate matter (PM10, PM2.5) are one of the most problematic harmful substances in the big cities of Georgia. It was determined that the average annual concentration of PM10 in the capital of Georgia in 2017-2021 was characterized by a decreasing trend, however, by 2021, a slight increase in its concentration was recorded at 2 automatic monitoring stations. In 2017-2020, a similar decreasing trend can be observed in relation to the average annual concentrations of PM2.5 in Tbilisi, and in 2021, it increases slightly at three stations compared to the previous year. Compared to 2018, the average annual concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 decreased and were within the limit values in Kutaisi and Batumi. The average annual concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 was significantly higher than the limit values in Rustavi.
