Abstract

Global warming is the process of rapid increase in the average annual temperature of the ground layer of the atmosphere and the world's oceans, which is due to the increase in the concentration of <greenhouse gases> in the atmosphere. Climate change is causing more frequent extreme weather events such as extreme heat waves, hurricanes and floods. This is related to the disorganization of food supply to the population. Food-borne zoonotic diseases, contaminated water-related illnesses, communicable diseases, and mental disorders are also on the rise. The situation of the economically disadvantaged population is even more difficult and the death rate is even higher in this population group. The aim of our study was to study the trends in the mental health of the population of Georgia under the conditions of global climate change. The results of our research show that mental disorders are quite common in Georgia, the morbidity rates are especially high among children and adolescents, which is unfortunate for a country with such a small population as Georgia.
