The role of singing in a childs musical development

Singing is one of the main forms of childrens musical activities.In the kindrgarten, thr music teacher participates in the preparation of music lessins together with the educator. Children develop interest in musical activities. Music lessons help develop various skills, musical data enhancement, to fill the vocabulary, developing choral habits, chilren learn the ratio of sounds according to pitch, in dynamics and rhythm. The teacher should be familiar with the childs vocal apparatus and its features. When performing a song, it is important to involve the whole class in the learning process, regardless of their musical credentials. Besides singing, they should be active in rhytmic movements and musical games.

In children,  the articulation apparatus is less mobile, however, as a result of training, the disadvantages are soon corrected. Articulation is highly dependent on the architectural structure of the oral cavity. When working on a song, the turning point is important. During this period, changes occur in both bous and girls. Changes in the voice are related to the growth of the larynx. This process is more difficult in boys than in girls. The period of mutation is characterized by imprecise intonation, hoarseness appears in the voice… During the mutation, it is necessary to observe the regime.

It is important to develop the correct singing breath, which is served by special breathing exsrcises. Cultivating correct breathing habits is one the main factors of quality singing performance. Getting the singing breath right is a difficult process. Attention should be paid to moderate inhalation and good activity of the lower ribs>

Correct pronunciation of words or diction is an inportant component of quality singing, for which we can use torgue twisters in the lesson. They help to improve the articulation of speech organs. The exercises should be done before learning the song, which help develop musical hearing, to focus attention, to bring the voice apparatus to readiness. It is necessary to consider the correct selection of the repertoire, attention should be paid to the age characteristics of the child, which will help to maintain the natural sound of the childs voice, to perform the song exspressively, elimination of speech defects, improve musical hearing, intonation correctly, developing a sense of rhythm…

Music lessons and in particular singing, it plays important role in the musical development of the child, in his personal formation.
