Several Georgian Traditions from the Life of Georgian Muhajirs in Turkey

In the ancient traditions and customs preserved to this day by Georgian Muhajirs in Turkey, their history, respect for the past, way of life, and current reality are clearly visible. These traditions primarily relate to the agricultural activities of Georgian Muhajirs, land cultivation, family formation, marriage-related customs, and beliefs...

In the report, we will focus on several lexical units from the speech of Georgian Muhajirs, names of traditions, rituals, and customs that are confirmed in various regions of Turkey. Single-word and two-word lexical units are found, which are mainly characterized by transparent motivation. These include:

Kashatoba- Ethnography, land cultivation-related custom (in.);

Gaktseva - Stealing a woman to be a bride (Klarj.);

Karis  Modzra/Karis Daklitva -Wedding custom/tradition (machakh.);

Rdzis Fara - Wedding custom/tradition (machakh.);

Fexnaktsevai/Fexsabrunebelai -The first visit of a married woman to her father's home, which occurs forty days after the wedding (Shavsh.), (in.);
