The article analyzes the current issues of the mother tongue, the teaching of which in primary school serves to develop speaking skills in the areas of speaking, reading, and writing. According to the National Curriculum, the development of language-related behavioral skills aims to nurture a person whi develops thought-provoking skills, listening culture, social communication and interactive skills. The development of oral skills in the teaching process has a systematic character, the vocabulary of students is gradually enriched according to the classes and their speech is also improved. After learning to read and write, reading habits are strengthened, elementary analysis of texts begins, the content and purpose of reading and writing change.In primary school, the skills of written speech, consistent and logical expression of ideas are developed. It also pays due attention to the development of students' self-expression and creative skills.
