Preschool and younger school age are the most important periods of a child's development. Children learn about the world at this age, find themselves, and develop various skills. Ninety percent of the brain is activated during this period, so it is necessary to diversify the learning process with activities that build attention, memory, thinking, and the interaction of the brain hemispheres.
Along with many other tasks, an educator or a teacher must care for the training of children's memory and developing the ability to concentrate, because a good memory will make a child more confident and independent.
The most effective way to improve memory is cognition. Also, a proven method is to do mental exercises that require thinking and concentration of attention, without which it will be impossible to fully perform any activity. Accordingly, all the activities that we plan to improve children's memory require attention and at the same time develop and promote concentration of attention.
To achieve small goals, a child needs working memory in everyday life, and routine plays a big role in improving it.
Listening and discussing what you have heard are the best ways to train memory and concentrate attention. It is important to choose interesting, small, simple, and age-appropriate fairy tales, stories, fables... Tongue twisters, proverbs, and riddles are also good.
Activities that require hands to work together are effective for developing attention and memory. Exercises on the ability to distribute attention, which require doing several things at once, are also important.
The leading behavior and main activity of children is playing, therefore, for the development of memory and attention, a set of simple tasks should be selected that will be fun and interesting for them. This process should resemble a game, not teaching.
Thus, training memory and improving the skill of concentrating attention in young children are very important, since good memory and mobilized attention are an integral part of success and a full life. The correct conduct of these processes depends on the educator and the teacher, the activities correctly selected by them, and the educational process planned considering age characteristics is a prerequisite for the child's development as a full-fledged and successful person.
