აუტისტური სპექტრის დარღვევა ნეიროგანვითარების პერვაზიული ხასიათის, მთელი სიცოცხლის განმავლობაში მიმდინარე დარღვევაა, რომელიც ვლინდება სოციალიზაციის, ვერბალური და არავერბალური კომუნიკაციის პრობლემებითა და სტერეოტიპული, განმეორებითი ქცევითი პატერნით [1]. აუტისტური სპექტრის დარღვევა მსოფლიოში ერთ-ერთ ყველაზე სწრაფად მზარდ პათოლოგიას წარმოადგენს [4,5]. გლობალურად აუტისტური სპექტრის დარღვევების პრევალენსი შეადგენს 1,7% [6]. აზიისა და ევროპის მონაცემებით, საშუალოდ 1-2% [7,9]. აშშ-ში აუტიზმის პრევალენსი 2000 წლიდან 2010 წლამდე 119.4%-ით გაიზარდა [2,3]. აუტისტური სპექტრის დარღვევათა ადრეული იდენტიფიკაცია და დროული, ადეკვატური ინტერვენცია აუმჯობესებს ბავშვის განვითარების პროცესს, ამცირებს ქცევის დარღვევებს და ხელს უწყობს ბავშვის საზოგადოებაში ინტეგრაციას [1]. ამ თვალსაზრისით, კრიტიკულად მნიშვნელოვანია პირველადი ჯანდაცვის დაწესებულებების და მშობლების როლი, სწორედ მათ უნდა ამოიცნონ, პირველ რიგში, აუტისტური სპექტრის დარღვევებისთვის დამახასიათებელი კლინიკური სიმპტომები [10]. აქედან გამომდინარე, მეტად მნიშვნელოვანია მშობლების ინფორმირებულობის დონის შეფასება ბავშვის განვითარების ნიშანსვეტების და აუტისტური სპექტრის დარ- ღვევების საკითხებზე.
