Abstract

Based on the study of ostracods from Sarmatian stratigraphic sections in Eastern Georgia (the Frone River, Nadarbazevi Gorge, the Qanchaura River, the Pote River, Bebris Tsikhe, the Noriostskali River, and Ujarma), we recognized the Lower (Volhynian) and Middle (Bessarabian) regional substages of the Sarmatian. We identified 23 species belonging to five genera: Aurila, Leptocythere, Loxoconcha, Xestoleberis, and Pontocypris.
