Abstract

The present study revises the structure and regional metamorphism of the allochthonous metamorphic complex of the Loki Crystalline Massif (Lesser Caucasus, Georgia). New geological mapping, petrographic observations, and mineralogical analyses demonstrate that the three previously distinguished tectonic sheets of metapelites constitute a single tectonic unit characterized by metamorphic conditions corresponding to a progressive transition from the greenschist through the epidote–amphibolite to the amphibolite facies. The boundaries of the individual geological units have been clarified and revised.
