Abstract

The use of pesticides in viticulture significantly improves yields and product quality, but it should be born in mind that pesticides can pose a threat to human health. The range of pesticides used in viticulture is rated according to their hazard level in accordance with the WHO and GHS / CLP hazard classifications. It was found that the presented range of pesticides used in viticulture, according to the WHO hazard classification, belongs to the II, III, U classes. And according to the GHS / CLP classification to 3, 4, 5 hazard categories. To evaluation the health risks of pesticides for winegrowers should consider the period of exposure and the level of exposure, the degree of hazard of the pesticide, the active ingredients and additives used in the formulations, and the meteorological characteristics. The use of appropriate equipment and personal protective clothing, as well as all precautions required during all stages of pesticide processing, will also reduce the harmful effects of pesticides.
