Abstract

Each case of lightning death is of great importance for analysis of external and internal injuries on the body in combination with the results of microscopical examination of damaged tissues. The diagnosis of electrical injuries, including the lightning cases, must be based not only on the specific external findings but also of the histomorphological changes in the corresponding tissues that is particularly important in atypical electric injury cases when the typical external pattern of electricity application on the skin could not be observed and the microscopical findings in the damaged tissues must be predomonantely used for final diagnoses.
