Family of Ghoghoberidze

Abstract

In the XIXth century, the Family of Ghoghoberidze lived in Kutaisi, which raised 5 public figures in the Georgia: Giorgi, Niko, Davit, Aneta and Simon. The Ghoghoberidze brothers and sisters were founders of schools, publishers of magazines and newspapaers, patrons of Georgian culture.

The older brother,  Giorgi, was the first graduate lawyer in Western Georgia and a pioneer of the European image by being the first to shave off his beard and mustache, thus becoming an example for his contemporaries.
