Abstract

Student-centered learning is a philosophy or approach to education designed to meet the individual needs of each student. In a truly student-centered learning environment, teachers and students work together to create a curriculum or pathway that best suits the needs of each individual student. In a learner-centered learning environment, the teacher strives to create an environment that is individualized to each student's learning needs. The teacher acts as the architect of each student's learning experience. The article discusses the connection of the student-centered approach with children's rights and what kind of historical context it has.
