Abstract

The semantic perception of the lexeme "war" and its pragmatic understanding is a very interesting process from the linguistic perspectives. The recent negative situation in the world has especially strengthened the semantic perception of the socio-political event (war) and its pragmatic understanding in the linguistic context, which is revealed by our mini-observation and study. Accordingly, the main goal of our research is the pragmatic and semantic understanding of the lexeme "war" and the media discourse (British and American modern newspapers magazines, such as The Guardian, USA Today, BBC News. etc.) is selected as the principal analytical source for our study.
