The presented article deals with a comparative analysis of the opening markers of popular Georgian and American political talk shows. Opening signals play an important role in any discourse. These signals vary according to national and cultural characteristics. My goal is to review the following Georgian and American political talk shows: Reaction, Giorgi Targamadze's formula, Imedi live, Politmeter, Sanaya, JUSTICE, RED&BLUE, All in with Chris Hayes, REPORTS, PRIMTIME WITH JOHN DICKERSON, and after studying the structure of the programs’ introduction and linguistic realization, identify specific markers: Which opening signals are used in Georgian and American political talk shows? How identical is the length of the monologue? Are there any differences in guest introduction? etc.
