Abstract

The field of periodontology is focused on the study and comprehensive understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms, additional risk factors and clinical features of periodontal diseases in order to provide reliable tools for accurate diagnosis and predictive treatment planning. The oral cavity is a key element of the digestive tract and any condition that affects its integrity and function (such as periodontitis or others) can have a significant impact on the patient's metabolic and Gastrointestinal status. The study presents a clinical case - a 60-year-old patient with peri-implantitis and esophagitis. The patient was treated with the involvement of a gastroenterologist

Conclusions:

In periodontitis, it is recommended to consider and treat other diseases of the digestive system. Both periodontologists and implantologists should collaborate in clinical practice with gastroenterologists to ensure the best treatment results for patients.
