Collectivism, individualism and modern society

There are many social groups or institutions in the modern world. Collectivistic and individualistic type of society is very relevant nowadays. Each of us belongs to these types depending on our life. Individualism and collectivism are used equally to describe both the individual and society. Individualistic culture refers to the number of individuals in a country whose "self-concept" is defined by stable personality traits and is less dependent on others. The "self-concept" of the members of a collective culture is determined more by roles and belonging to groups.
