Abstract

The scientific and technological revolution that took place at the beginning of the 21st century led to cardinal changes in the field of media. Under the conditions of the transformed media landscape and, most importantly, taking into account a fairly short period of time, it was difficult for media researchers to adequately assess certain processes and events, and they also had to revise already established terms in the light of the new digital reality. As for the media education movement, in terms of terminology, chaos has reigned here for almost four decades. We mean the fact that the question of a single name for this very important area remains open to this day. To this day, there is controversy among media researchers on this issue. However, the problem is not just in different names, but in a different approach to relatively recognizable terms.
