History of Orthodox Journalism in Georgia

Abstract

The stages of development of Orthodox journalism in Georgia are almost unstudied. This article is an attempt to fill the existing gap, to explore the historical precedents and stages of development of the establishment of religious magazines and newspapers, the Georgian Patriarchate Radio “Iveria”, the TV company “Iveria”, and later the Patriarchate TV station “Ertsulovnebi”.

We tried to present in depth relatively important publications that played a turning point not only in the development of Georgian Orthodox journalism, but also in terms of national-religious stability.
