Review of directives regulating the conditions defined by the Association Agreement with the European Union in the field of road transport

Abstract

Within the framework of the association agreement signed between Georgia and the European Union, Georgia committed to aligning its national legislation with the European Union within a specified timeframe. This convergence, encompassing various aspects, extends to the field of road transport. European regulations establish rules and requirements for companies and their management involved in transporting goods and passengers via road transport. To standardize conditions for domestic and international freight companies, it is crucial to take incremental steps and implement relevant reforms. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the anticipated changes in the management of road transport companies resulting from the implementation of EU regulations in Georgia. The significant growth and sustained nature of road transportation, despite the pandemic, have made it a thriving industry not only in Georgia but also in European countries. This fact heavily influenced the selection of this topic, as the management systems in companies operating in this field are confronted with significant challenges and issues.
