PECULIARITIES OF ANTHRAX DISTRIBUTION IN GEORGIA IN 2010-2019
Keywords:
Anthrax, Georgia, DistributionAbstract
The aim of the research is to study the peculiarities of anthrax distribution in Georgia in 2010-2019. The highest rate is found in 2012 and 2013, and in recent years, as a result of mass vaccination of animals, the incidence of anthrax has sharply decreased in the human population. The distribution of anthrax in all regions of Georgia is due to the dozens of anthrax-infected animal burials in the country, which have not been rehabilitated and spores in the soil still cause anthrax cases. The highest prevalence of the disease is found in 30-59 years age group. Almost 4/5 of the cases occur in men, which does not differ from the general peculiarities of the age and sex distribution of the disease.
