Knee osteoarthritis is a chronic multifactorial joint disorder commonly associated with pain, stiffness, muscle weakness, reduced mobility and limitations in daily activities. This narrative review summarizes contemporary evidence-based principles of comprehensive rehabilitation for knee osteoarthritis. Core components include individualized therapeutic exercise, muscle strengthening, aerobic activity, patient education and self-management, weight management when appropriate, and selected assistive strategies. Rehabilitation outcomes should not be judged by pain alone; assessment should also include physical function, mobility, muscle performance, range of motion, activities of daily living and health-related quality of life. Current international recommendations support a person-centered, progressive and sustained rehabilitation plan, with therapeutic exercise as a central intervention. This paper is a narrative review and does not report original patient data.Downloads
