Publishing policy
A manuscript submitted for publication in the Georgian Geographical Journal must be original and must not have been published before.
GGJ regards copyright infringement, plagiarism, or any other violations of publication best practices with utmost seriousness. Our primary objective is to safeguard the rights of our authors, and we consistently conduct thorough investigations into allegations of plagiarism or improper utilisation of published articles. Similarly, we aim to safeguard the journal's reputation from any unethical conduct. Submitted manuscripts may undergo scrutiny using plagiarism detection technologies. All manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal will be screened using "Turnitin"'s proprietary plagiarism detection programme. The editor personally evaluates the program's found matches and determines their correctness. Authors can find more details about the Turnitin here. If an article is discovered to have plagiarised or included copyrighted material without permission or proper acknowledgment, or if there is a dispute over the authorship of the article, we have the authority to take various actions. These actions may include publishing a correction, retracting the article, addressing the issue with the author's institution's head of department or dean, contacting relevant academic bodies or societies, or pursuing legal action if necessary.
Authors must secure permission from copyright holders to reproduce any pictures, tables, figures, or extensive quotations that have been previously published elsewhere.
GGJ publications are deposited in and available in the CLOCKSS archive. More details you can be found here. The “Journal metrics” page provides detailed information on the Abstracting & Indexing services covering GGJ.
Peer Review
Submitted manuscripts are sent to the editor-in-chief of the relevant section. After that, the section editor-in-chief make a decision, and in case of a positive decision, the manuscript will be sent to a reviewer. Georgian Geographical Journal uses a single-blind peer review process. More detailed information about the review process can be found here.
Article Processing Charges
Manuscripts accepted for publication after passing all procedures will be subject to an Article Processing Charge of $100. There are special offers for Georgian authors, which are considered individually. The policy of the journal is aimed at encouraging early-career researchers in the Caucasus region, therefore exceptional cases are considered individually.
ORCID
All authors should list their ORCID number in their manuscript. Please note this is a preference not a requirement for submission.
