Abstract

An ulcer is a chronic disease of the gastrointestinal tract (except for acute intestinal infections and poisoning with such a poison that can cause an ulcer of the gastrointestinal tract), manifested by the appearance of ulcerative defects on the mucous membrane. Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum usually develops at a relatively active, creative age and causes a temporary of permanent decrease in working capacity. The frequency of diseases of the gastrointestinal tracts, including peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, in Georgia has always attracted the attention of specialists because in their development, along with other factors, our lifestyle and diet played a big role. Recently, an undesirable trend has been clearly observed – the development of this pathology at a young age and you guessed it, even in childhood, which used to be a rarity. In may opinion, this should be attributed again and again to the wrong lifestyle and diet. This article also presents main epidemiological and clinical features among the patients with the peptic ulcer who have been observed and treated in our clinic for several years.
