Abstract

The article discusses an important issue in the field of health care – postpartum depression, which is characterized by a large spread. The article presents basic information about the causes, prevalence and risk factors of the condition. Emphasis is placed on determining the level and views of the public knowledge about the difference between postpartum depression and postpartum stress. Both conditions are characterized by an almost identical course. Proper public awareness and actualization of the issue are important, as postpartum depression is a very noteworthy and important issue in terms of women's health, and the effectiveness of its management depends on the early detection of the condition and preventive measures.
