As known, the conditional stress is determined by the ratio of the load to the size of the initial cross-section of the sample, and the relative elongation as the ratio of the increase in length to the graduated initial length of the sample. A conditional stress-strain diagram is a load-elongation diagram for a specimen whose cross-sectional area and length are equal to one.
